Path of Exile Item Upgrading
In Path of Exile, item upgrading is one of the best ways to upgrade your gear without relying on big-ticket drops or trade. This article will show you how to upgrade your items efficiently.
Upgrades to equipment provide a bonus on the item's stats. This bonus scales with the upgrade component level and rarity.
Components
Upgrade components are the items that make your weapons and armor more effective. They can be found by destroying enemies, purchasing them from karma sellers or finding them in the form of item-spheres. You can also get them from equipment containing the components, or by utilizing salvage kits of high-end quality, such as Black Lion Salvage Kit and Ascended Salvage Tool. Upgrade components cannot be destroyed when they are removed from the item.
The primary function of upgrade components is to enable an item to be upgraded however, they also serve other purposes. They can be stacked to boost the value of an item that can be upgraded or they can be used to boost the amount of experience gained from upgrading an existing weapon or piece of gear. They can also be made to offer additional benefits. A glyph that has been crafted can increase the chances of upgrading its target while an upgrade boosts the defense or attack capabilities of a weapon.
Selecting an upgrade template from the GUI will allow you to connect it to an item. This will display the list of upgrade components that the item can be upgraded to. You can also use the workbench to select an upgrade template. In either instance, the item will be upgraded when enough upgrade components are collected.
Each component has a different experience multiplier, which affects how much more experience an item gets when it is upgraded by the component. For instance, organic components have a a higher experience multiplier than mechanical ones. You should upgrade your organic components first until you reach the next rank in the weapon or equipment and then switch to the mechanical upgrades.
Each item comes with an upgrade limit number that can be received. The number of upgrades are determined by its upgradeable rank and the type of upgrade available to the upgradeable item. The most powerful upgrade is a weapon with 10th level. However, the most popular upgrades for weapons are the tier 6 weapon and a tier 5 armor upgrade.
Sets
A set is a group of items that share bonuses. Each item can be upgraded at the minimum once. The upgrade will increase the amount of bonuses you can expect to receive. When you first upgrade an item, its primary stat will be +1. After subsequent upgrades the primary stats will be boosted a little further (for example, +1 up to 12+/13+/14+) Every time you upgrade the item with an additional stats is increased randomly.
The upgrade of a weapon can increase its damage base, which may be important for some builds. Weapons cannot be upgraded for an increased maximum defence roll than their base. Upgrades can be a great option to increase the value of some set and unique items, but it's important to remember that they might not be superior to a high-level runeword in any build.
If an item you're upgrading comes with a guaranteed bonus, it can be rerolled only once and the guarantee will reset to 0. The same amount of power die is used to roll an item as it would be to level it up. However, the new item has different bonuses. Upgrades can be completed through the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item, you'll need a power die of each kind (Dice 4 or 6 drop from monsters 21+ and Giants; Dice 7 drops from bosses) and the proper amount of Minerals and Erons. They can be purchased by using Gold at the crafting table, or in the Ultra Collection. The NPCs will also offer special rewards for each stage of the upgrade process. The reward can be rerolled one time with the same materials as the original item.
Rerolling
A player can roll any item they have acquired in the game if they have enough reroll tokens. When an item is rerolled it will be replaced by a level 1 version in another set. Reroll tokens can be bought from the store for small amounts of in-game currency. However, they cannot be refunded. The new item will have the same extra bonuses as the original, but the stats will also differ.
Players can change the identity of their equipment as well as changing it's roll by interfacing with an NPC upgrader. This will change the identification from a weapon to armor or vice versa, while keeping its basic stats and required attributes. The change is permanent and will affect all characters that own the gear in question.
The player can also upgrade their item level for any equipment that is equipped. This is done by interacting with an upgrader NPC and obtaining upgrade item s. It will cost a specific amount of crests and Valorstones depending on the upgrade track and item type. Each step will add 5% more damage to weapons.
Upgrades can increase the capability of an item, but they also can decrease its quality. Therefore, it is crucial to balance the two. Some items are not worth upgrading, while other items need to be upgraded to make them more effective. A player may want to upgrade their breakpoint armor using an interesting modification (% block chance or FHR) to see what else it can be.
The main reason people are able to reroll in Genshin Impact, or in any gacha-based game is because they are trying to obtain a particular weapon or character that they wouldn't otherwise be able to acquire. These items can be time-consuming and expensive to obtain and the RNG isn't always a good fit. The only alternative is to invest money or grind for a long time. For this reason, rerolling is a popular option in Genshin Impact.
Leveling

You can choose whether to upgrade the weapon or armor after upgrading an item. This feature is not available in the current version of the game. I believe this feature was intended to increase the value of expensive and rare items. However, since most equipment is replaced quickly, and it can only be upgraded by to a certain level, you will usually replace it before it gets too old. It's also not worth upgrading items using gem sockets, as the power of the gem will outweigh any increment in the level of.
You will see a small window when you click on the upgrade option on an item. It will display the template of the item, the Crest, as well as the Valorstone cost to raise the item's level. Armor and weapons will have different costs, with the latter typically being more costly. The upgrade template lists the stats that can be added to an upgraded item, along with its current ilvl.
The cost of the Valorstone and Crest is calculated using the item's current Ilvl and the upgrade templates. The ilvl will also be decreased by the upgrade templates reduction percentage of lvl. For instance, an upgrade of 8% can reduce the ilvl of a weapon by 8 to 8percent.
In addition to the increase in ilvl base the item will also receive upgrades in other stats, such as critical strike damage, PvE damage, dodge, block, and parry rating. The increases are also dependent on the upgrade template.
In the upgrade template you can see the amount of damage or defense an item will be able to sustain after being leveled up. This is listed below the cost and the upgrade percentages. All weapons and armor that are not practice equipment gain these stats upon leveling up. The value of these additional stats will be determined by the market, with a perfectly perfectly rolled version of a weapon or piece of armor able to command much more in trade value than unupp'd versions. The same applies to other armor pieces, such as tiaras and circlets.
